Forta Corporation
Forta Corporation, a leading supplier of concrete reinforcing additives, contracted with Compu-Fix to upgrade their legacy IT environment. Running on an outdated Digital Equipment Corporation system, Forta wished to move to a Microsoft Windows environment while retaining customer and sales history.
Utilizing Windows based PCs and Servers, Compu-Fix designed and implemented a replacement solution for all sales, accounting and general business needs. Realizing the value of existing customer data, the challenge was to convert legacy information for use in a current IT solution. Writing custom software for data conversion, and working with outside vendors, Compu-Fix was able to help Forta transfer their valuable customer data into a new CRM system.
The next challenge was to make this solution available to the mobile, nationwide sales force. Realizing that many of the sales staff would be working from slow Internet connections, Compu-Fix implemented a Microsoft Terminal Services solution for access by the sales force.
Security was also a major concern. Utilizing WatchGuard Technologies firewalls and encrypted connections, Forta employees are able to access all needed network resources from anywhere in the world.
As technology has progressed, Compu-Fix has helped Forta’s make efficient and cost effective use of new technology. Today, Forta employees utilize the latest technologies available in smart phones, remote connectivity, remote video monitoring and email.
